Cathy and Maz. Margaret rang me from Perth yesterday to tell me she wanted some of our weather, At 8am local time they had 32C and 95% humidity and this means the air con won't work efficiently. Oh yes, and she's been burgled!
About -5C here, dry and glass steady on 29.6". Another good day for a brisk walk!

Poor Mags (re the burglary) but (in the spirit of one upmanship) we are hovering around 44 degrees as I write this. In a word...GHASTLY here today. How sad it is to sit inside and watch the garden turn up it's toes and literally scorch as we watch on. Guzzling water by the barrel load...
Did Mags have much taken, Stanley? And does she have insurance?

I've just realised...that with the temperatures both you and Nolic are quoting...there is an incredible 50 degree C difference in our temperatures! Difficult to imagine, from both sides. Yesterday, I filled the bath with cold water and left it there. I stripped off whenever I got hot and sat in the bath for ten minutes. (just the thought of it makes you shiver, I expect.)

Maz, just had mail from Janet in Perth that hurricane Bianca has missed them. Very cold here in Barlick and fine snow coming down from a dark cloudy sky. I don't think we'll have much. Glass is steady at just above 29.5".
Harry attacked the difference in temperature at Xmas by wearing three pairs of thermal trousers! He said it worked.

Spotted a primrose this morning whilst emptying the dogs. For explanation of the plural, please see the blog entry for today. Not too bad in jimjams, clogs and coat.
Measure with a micrometer. Mark with a pencil. Cut with an axe. |
