I've had my morning walk, Thermal beany and a sarf and porridge for breakfast. I think that says it all, roll on some warm weather! One cheerful sign was the heat in the sun striking my legs as I stood waiting to cross the road. The heat's there, it's just not winning the battle against the wind and cloud.

We nearly reached 16C today, very overcast and the wind was very chilling. Of the 50 people in my office, half of them are either sniffing or coughing (some both). We are temps and don't get paid for time-off, so everyone just keeps turning up each day, and the viruses just go round and round. Tomorrow is first day of Winter.

Looks a bit better this morning, a nice dawn sky if you forget the old saying about red in the morning being a shepherd's warning. Glass up to 29.6" Almost calm, dry and bright. Mind you, the heating has just cracked on!

Dry, broken cloud and almost calm. Glass shoots up to 29.8". Looks like the HP system moving in that's going to give us a summer! However, heating cracked on yet again this morning! Roll on some warm weather but one wonders how the dry areas of the country will go on. Lots of the East coast needs rain badly.

Overcast until 13:00 when the sun came out and what breeze there was became warmer. Very pleasant afternoon. Glass high and steady just below 30" and a clear sky so we have had full sun since dawn. Could be a very nice day.

Perfect day yesterday. Looks good today but a NE wind might cool things down a bit. Glass falling, 29.6", I thought this HP system was supposed to be long-lasting?

Blue skies and whit fluffy clouds here, but a bit of a nip in the air. Possibly my own fault, as I think I should have put something warmer on. Have been sitting here watching the last few leaves fall off the Wisteria, so I am free to prune that now it is bare. Oranges ripening well, as are the Mandarines...nice to look out the window and see the deepening orange orbs each day. There is a rerun of the first episode of Downton Abbey on this afternoon and I may lay on the bed and watch it. They introduced so many characters in that first episode, it confused me a bit. Second episode is on tomorrow night. Febby is freezing his bits off at the football this afternoon...went off as pleased as punch to be getting slightly cheaper admission price as one of the perks of his newly aquired 'senior's card' (which he just about had to go down on one knee to receive!).

It all sounds good Maz. Jack and I are back from a walk round the town and despite the negative forecast it's a lovely morning, clear, sunny, heavy dew and not a breath of wind. About 60F at 6am. 65F now and still a lovely morning.

Had a nice run ti Liverpool in glorious sunshine and picked Dan up. By the time we got back into Lancashire the sun had gone and it had clouded over and the temperature dropped to 15C. Nolic

Back from walking round the town. What breeze there is is from the NE and chilly. I saw Mark, our splendid street-sweeper, doing his thing cleaning up after last night's revellers and told him to get finished before it rained. Unfortunately I was right, the slates are wet, its cold and definitely not summer or aven a drying day. Sorry kids....

Brisk NE wind on Letcliffe. Because that's a dry quarter, no heavy rain but isolated spatters of big drops all day. Glass still falling slowly, 29" this morning.
